2009 DPI Science Awards - Shaping our future

What are the DPI Science Awards?

Nominations are closed.

The DPI Science Awards celebrate and acknowledge excellence in science and innovation, both from within Victoria's regional communities and our universities, as well as from amongst DPI's own 1,100 scientists.

Presented since 1992, the Awards recognise the important contribution science and innovation makes towards addressing challenges in Victoria's primary industries.

Science, innovation and the application of new technologies are central to the future growth and development of the Victorian economy.

DPI is Victoria's largest science-based Government agency and has for many years addressed the innovation and technology needs of the primary industries sector.

The awards are presented by the Minister for Agriculture and other parliamentary colleagues at a ceremony held in Melbourne. Approximately 200 people from Parliament, industry, regional bodies, the scientific community, and government departments attend the event.
