A new Timber Industry Strategy for Victoria
Public Consultation Draft
The Victorian Government has been developing a new Timber Industry Strategy to provide a framework and long-term direction for the Victorian timber industry for the next 20 years.
A comprehensive development process has been undertaken to develop the Timber Industry Strategy public consultation draft.
On 8 April 2009, the Minister for Agriculture announced the release of the Timber Industry Strategy public consultation draft for a 60 day public consultation period - read the Media Release and Bushfire Addendum.
The draft strategy includes 13 broad action areas to build a strong future for Victoria's timber industry.

Development process formal written submissions
Written submissions on the content of the Timber Industry Strategy public consultation draft were invited during a 60 day public consultation period. The public consultation period closed on 8 June 2009. Submissions will provide valuable input to assist the Victorian Government finalise the Timber Industry Strategy for release later in 2009.
